ASUS Smartphone Concept is Both Fat and Phat
Dreaming
of a quad core ASUS phone with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean on board? That’s
exactly what you get today, courtesy of Deviantart member rodrigoDSCT,
who admires ASUS and decided to create this concept. We’re talking about
a smartphone with rounded edges, that make it look a bit “fat”, so to
say. It measures 8mm in thickness and weighs 120 grams.
This ASUS smartphone is supposed to come in black or white and
feature a 4.5 inch 720p display with Super AMOLED tech and Gorilla Glass
II. Other features include 1.5GB of RAM, 16/32/64GB of storage and a
quad core 1.5 GHz Tegra CPU. The handset runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and
has updates guaranteed for two years, according to the designer. At the
back there’s an 8 megapixel camera, the same one from the Sony Xperia
Arc and iPhone 4S, while at the front we find a 1.3 megapixel cam.
Other feats include two microphones, a 3.5 mm audio jack and a loud
speaker at the back. The rest of the specs are considered similar to the
Sony Xperia S and HTC One X. There’s a lot of finesse put into the
design of the camera area on this device and its facade looks very much

Google Nexus 2013 Concept (Final Version) With Tegra 4 CPU, Sold by Google Wireless Carrier
We offered you a concept of the
Galaxy Nexus 2 and
a teaser
for an upcoming Google Nexus phone. Now Bob Freking delivered the
Google Nexus 2013, a really well designed piece of work and a very
original idea behind it. This phone is all Google, so much that even its
wireless network is offered by Google. The search engine giant is
supposed to handle the software, hardware and network in this case. We
have a gallery below and you can click on the pictures to see their
larger versions.
Bob Freking’s concept involves the announcement of Google Wireless,
the company’s own carrier with cheap 4G plans. Also, know that the
phones with support for this newfound carrier will lack bloatware and
will be thinner, lacking a SIM card, that will actually be built in.
Google Nexus 2013 features a 4.8 inch AMOLED display with a 1600 x 900
pixel resolution, a 1.6 GHz Nvidia Tegra 4 quad core processor and a
13.1 megapixel HD camera. The device is suppoed to be sold by Google for
$299 unlocked and for $49 locked on Google Wireless.
This “Nexus 2″ runs Android Key Lime Pie, with an updated version of
Google Now and G Network, that offers free messaging and calls to other
Android 4.2 phones. By the way Key Lime Pie is actually Android 4.2. The
phone also integrates the Google Fiber service and as far as design
goes, Nexus 2013 has some cool lines at the back, that light up
depending on the notification you get. This lighting system is actually
the famous logo of the Nexus family. Everything is covered with
polycarbonate and Gorilla Glass and other specs include a 2 megapixel
front camera and 3000 mAh battery. Beautiful and brilliant work Bob!
The Google Nexus 2013 Phone by Bob Freking
We’ve already posted a
teaser of the next Galaxy Nexus phone, made by Bob Freking. There was also the
Nexus 2 concept
we had, that went viral. And now we’ve got this shade and Bob Freking
asks you for clues and a guessing game on what this device is all about.
I’m guessing it’s a quad core device with Android Key Lime Pie or
maybe Android L, who knows? It seems like a very slim device and the big
shades on the side make me think about one volume button, but what
about the other? Then I had a revelation: what if this is not a phone
and its shadow, but a phone with a sliding part? And what if those
things that look like volume buttons are in fact shoulder buttons? Could
it be a Google Nexus Xperia Play 2?! Of course, this is just my
speculation and the final device isn’t ready yet.

Sony Xperia Neo S Has Great Display PPI (319)

Ling has produced a number of Xperia concepts so far and some have been
very interesting. The thing is that he doesn’t actually change much of
the original designs of Sony phones, he just upgrades the specs and
works around the main design. Such is the case of the Sony Xperia Neo S,
yet another evolution of the Xperia Neo.
We’re dealing here with a 4.2 inch smartphone with a TFT scratch
resistant capacitive touchscreen, an 8.1 megapixel camera with LED flash
and 16X digital zoom. The handset’s cam does 1080p video capture and
the Sony Xperia Neo S also comes with a a front 1.3 megapixel camera
with 720p capture. Inside there’s a dual core 1.4 GHz Cortex A9
processor (NovaThor U8500) and other specs include 768 MB of RAM,
Android 4.0.7 ICS and 8GB of storage. The smartphone measures 11.5mm in
thickness and weighs 125 grams.
It has a 319 ppi pixel density and offers technologies like Sony
Mobile BRAVIA Engine, xLOUD, Sony White Magic and a Li-Ion 1520 mAh
battery. Other features are Bluetooth 4.0, multitouch for up to 4
fingers and a microSD card slot with 64GB support. Fancy this Xperia Neo

Bob Freking Prepares Google Nexus Revolution – Teaser for Now
It appears that you liked very much the
Galaxy Nexus 2 concept,
that went viral on Facebook and Google+. It received 100 likes, over 30
shares and over 20 Google+ +1 votes. Now this device inspired our often
quoted designer Bob Freking to create his own vision of the Google
future. He imagined the “Android K with Nexus”, shown through a teaser
below.
He promises that the next concept will be a mixture of software and
hardware. Bob held Jelly Bean in his hands and has a good idea of what
it’s about. He claims it’s perfect and says it’s hard to improve
something so polished. Well, he has a few ideas, applied to what looks
like the new Galaxy Nexus phone, in his vision. He is still thinking
about the concept and gathering ideas, so suggestions are welcome as
usual.
I imagine that Google will launch a new Nexus phone with Android Key
Lime Pie, that’s what the K stands for this time. So, either Bob Freking
imagines the phone of the next Android release or the 2013 Nexus
handset. Having seen his next teaser, I can reveal this The Google Nexus

The Next Galaxy Nexus (Nexus 2?) Mockup Created by Killu-Chan
Well,
isn’t this a pleasant surprise? After so many Nokia and Apple concepts
here’s a device focused on the Google experience. This is the Next
Galaxy Nexus, or maybe you want to dub it Galaxy Nexus 2. I supposed
it’s made by Samsung, since the designer didn’t mention that aspect,
although some elements of its design make me think about Motorola.
The Next Galaxy Nexus features a Super AMOLED display with 5 inch
diagonal and 720p resolution, plus Corning Gorilla Glass 2 protection.
Other specs include 32GB of storage, 8GB of RAM (?!), HSDPA 42 Mbps
connectivity, WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, microUSB 2.0 with MHL and USB on the
go. The camera at the back is a 12 megapixel sensor with autofocus, LED
flash and simultaneous HD video and image recording, touch focus, image
stabilization and face and smile detection.
The device features a front 2 megapixel camera with 720p capture at
30 fps, while the camera at the back does 1080p video capture at 30 fps.
The battery inside the Galaxy Nexus 2 is a 3200 mAh unit and the OS on
board is Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean. As the brain of the smartphone we
have the quad core Nvidia Tegra 3 quad core 2 GHz processor, with GPU
ULP GeForce. Killu-Chan did a great job with this design, that looks a
bit more sci-fi than the curved Galaxy Nexus.
Coca Cola Concept Mobile Phone Created by David Carrillo
Since it’s a hot summer, one can relax with a lighter phone concept such as the Coca Cola mobile, created by David Carrillo.
Enough with the highest end quad core smartphones and let’s have some
fun! The handset is a slider that has a main part shaped like a coke can
and a numeric keypad under the sliding part.
There’s a main front button that looks like a small trackpad (it
could be one in fact), a camera at the back and a front camera, too. The
device is a bit bulky, but it’s one of those one time only devices,
like the plastic cameras people bought years ago for holidays. I have to
say that I like the black model the most, especially if the red parts
of the design are illuminated as well. The identity of the brand Coca
Cola is well preserved in the handset, to be honest.
The Spanish designer didn’t mention any specs or OS, but I imagine
something like this: 3 megapixel camera, 2GB of storage, maybe even
Android on board and a 3 inch touch display. Also, I expect a ton of
custom Coca Cola apps to be available on the handset. Would you buy this
for fun?
Sony Xperia U 2 Runs Android 4.0, Has Dual Core 1.2 GHz CPU

Ling is back with one of his minimalistic concepts, that involves
making a follow-up for an already existing Xperia phone. The
modifications are minor in this case, as far as the Sony Xperia U 2 is
concerned. We’re dealing with a dual core 1.2 GHz phone, with a 3.7 inch
display that’s scratch resistant.
Xperia U 2 has a 5 megapixel camera with LED flash, a front 1.3MP
shooter and the main cam does both 720p video capture and 8x digital
zoom. The device measures 12.5mm in thickness, weighs 119 grams and its
specs list includes Android 4.0, 512MB of RAM, while the CPU is of the
Cortex A9 kind. This model has 12GB of internal storage, 291 ppi pixel
density, xLOUD audio and Sony Mobile Bravia Engine technology.
Other specs include Bluetooth 4.0, multitouch for up to 8 fingers and
a Li-Ion 1500 mAh battery. The design follows the usual Xperia styling
of 2012, with a rectangular form factor, matte back area and the
majority of buttons on one of the sides. Also there are 3 capacitive
buttons below the display. I’m not that impressed frankly!
Sony CX Concept, the Rebirth of the Cyber-shot
Since
Concept Phones dates from 2008, I’m sure you remember our many
Cyber-shot and Sony Walkman designs, but sadly it’s been a while since
we’ve seen one of those. We usually got them from the Esato board and
now here they are again, with a brand new Cyber-shot phone of 2012,
created by forum member Reeflotz, Kevin Lim in real life.
For starters it runs Android, most likely Ice Cream Sandwich and it
uses the button display that reminds me of the Xperia Ray, with that
semicircle of light around the Home button. The buttons on the side
remind me of the Xperia Arc, while the overall front design fits with
the new generation of Xperia U, P and S (flat and rectangular). This is
an Xperia model, as shown by the back logo and also at the back we find a
speaker, a 12.1 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss technology and the
flash (Xenon?).
The back of the Sony Xperia CX 2012 Cyber-shot totally reminds me of
the old school Cyber-shot units, to be frank. Sony don’t actually need
to change anything about the designs of their phones, that have been
great for the past years. They just need to adapt their specs to the
modern world and include kickass cameras, audio systems and processors.
Will they make it?
HTC One Desire is a HTC Flyer Successor, a 7 Inch Beats Audio Tablet
Bob
Freking strikes again, this time with a HTC tablet concept. This model
is called HTC One Desire and it’s the follow-up to the HTC Flyer,
meaning it will have a 7 inch display and Beats Audio tech this time.
HTC is actually rumored in real life to be making a tablet, a quad core
bigger model codenamed Vertex.
Back to our HTC tablet design, this one has phone capabilities, runs
Android 4.1 Jelly Bean with HTC Sense 4.0 and uses the 7 inch format
with pull down notifications. As you know Jelly Bean looks differently
on 7 and 10 inch tablets. At the back of the HTC One Desire there’s an 8
megapixel camera, while upfront there’s a 2 megapixel shooter, with
ImageSense technology. The specs include an ARM15 Snapdragon processor
and a polycarbonate case. This tablet’s screen is a 7 inch 1080p unit,
based on Super LCD 2 technology.
Other features include 2GB of RAM and stylus support, with a pretty
big pen with an earpiece for calling and microphone, also with Beats
technology. Bob Freking sees this as a “beastly flagship”, that combines
the great things of the One devices and the Desire units.
